Have you ever wanted to explore the Northern End and Southern End of the Flinders Ranges? If yes, then this is the safari for you! We head north first staying at working stations and visit Arkaroola to enjoy the wilderness. Enjoy 4WD tours into the gorges and around Arkaroola, and after we will head into the Central and Southern Flinders Ranges. Join us in exploring this diverse area, which includes wineries and historic ports. 

Highlights include:

•4WD tour and half-day gorges tour

•Alpana Station – working sheep farm

•Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary and half-day 4WD tour of Arkaroola

•Merna Mora Station – a true bush experience

•Clare Valley wine region and winery tour

This safari does include some gravel roads.


Itinerary

Day 1 Meet and greet at Craddock Hotel for happy hour and dinner (dinner provided) camping behind the pub

Day  2 Depart for Wilpena Pound NRMA park, where we will stay 3 nights, happy hour in the afternoon (powered site, facilities)

Day 3 Be collected by 4WD tour vehicle and go on a ½ day gorges tour (tour included)

Day 4 Free time to look around, go on a walk or bike ride or just relax

Day 5 Depart for Alpana Station, a working sheep station in the Central Flinders Ranges where we will stay one night, campfire if permitted, no power

Day 6 Departing Alpana Station we will stop in Blinman to take in the history of this tiny town made known for its copper mining. following which we will head out on gravel road to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Northern Flinders Ranges where we will stay 3 nights (powered sites, facilities) (water TBA)

Day 7 Depart on a ½ day Ridgetop 4WD tour exploring the wonders of the Flinders Ranges (tour and morning tea included)

Day  8 Free time to explore, go on a hike, a scenic flight, book a tour or just relax. Restaurant facilities are available at Arkaroola, camp fire if permitted

Day 9 Depart for Merna Morna Station, hosted by a 6th generation cattle and sheep station family, enjoy true bush experience (amenities)

Day 10 Depart for Quorn in the Central Flinders Ranges where will stay at accommodation tba (powered site, facilities, water), happy hour in the afternoon

 Day 11 Today we will enjoy a ½ day train ride on the heritage steam train Pichi Pichi (train ride included)

Day  12 Depart for Jamestown where will stay at The Park caravan park (powered site, water, facilities)

Day 13 Today we head into the beautiful Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, where we will stay 2 nights Clare Discovery park

Day 14 Today we will be collected by coach and enjoy a winery tour including light lunch (tour, lunch included)

Day 15 We depart for Melrose, known as the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges, unpowered accommodation for our last night together. Campfire, happy hour and dinner together (included)

Day 16 We say goodbye and all go on our independent travels

Includes approximately 300km of gravel roads into and back out of Arkaroola
