It was a great pleasure for Chairman Nelson Crawshaw and me to travel to North Queensland this week to present the Club’s highest honour, Honorary Life Membership, to three very deserving members.
Our first presentation took place in Ingham, where we were delighted to recognise Aldo Lavarini (Q10254). Aldo has dedicated many years of service to the Club, particularly as the key contact for CMCA RV Park Ingham since its inception, working tirelessly to support members and the park’s ongoing success. We were joined by members of the Tropical Coast Wanderers, of which Aldo is a proud and long-standing member.
The second presentation was held in Cairns, where Milly Virtue and June Woodham (Q29325) received their Honorary Life Membership awards. Milly has served as the leader of the Far North Nomads for more than 12 years and has been instrumental in the ongoing success of the annual Christmas in July Rally at Mareeba. Both Milly and June have been wonderful ambassadors for CMCA, with Milly now also serving as our key contact for CMCA Greenpatch Campground Gordonvale.
Together with the recent presentation to Paul and Nicola Jensen at the 38th National Rally, all these members are most deserving of our heartfelt congratulations for their outstanding contributions and long-standing commitment to CMCA.
While in the north, we also took the opportunity to inspect our parks in Ingham, Innisfail, and Greenpatch. Although Greenpatch remains closed, all required works by Council and the Queensland Government have now been completed, and the park is scheduled to reopen in April 2026.
Both Innisfail and Ingham parks will remain open until the end of November.
Safe travelling
Richard
