Hello and welcome, Thirlstane Golf Club, Thirlstane, Tasmania!
Nestled in the lush farming heartland of Thirlstane on Tasmania's stunning Central North Coast, this little slice of golfing paradise sits just 7km from Port Sorell and 18km east of Devonport along Squeaking Point Road. Surrounded by natural bushland and designed in 1980 by Australian amateur golfing legend Peter Toogood, Thirlstane offers a beautifully maintained course that punches well above its weight.
There is a designated parking area available to RV travellers in self-contained vehicles for a low rate of just $15 per vehicle per night. The grassed area is accessible from Squealing Point Road, with negotiable stays available and pets on leads welcome. The camping area is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, while the Clubhouse is open most days at varying times.
While you're in the neighbourhood, do yourself a favour and swing by Ghost Rock Vineyard - an award-winning cellar door that's a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. Sip on exceptional locally produced wines paired with delicious regional food, and you might just forget you're supposed to be moving on. Perfectly positioned between Port Sorrell and Hawley Beach, Thirlstane also makes for a great base to explore both towns and immerse yourself in activities such as boating, swimming and fishing.
