New RV Friendly Town

Our latest RV Friendly Town is Gatton QLD!

Gatton is a town in South east Queensland, which sits in the lovely Lockyer Valley. Gatton is also the administrative centre of the Lockyer Valley local government area. The area has rich agricultural history, and today, vegetables make up the majority of local crops. Up until the 1990’s, fruit was grown extensively throughout the region; however, with changing economic conditions, many of the orchards were removed.

Those visiting the friendly town of Gatton have access to short-term parking at Gatton RV Park. Parking is only available for those travelling in self-contained vehicles, and a maximum stay of 48 hours applies. Pets are permitted to stay on-site as long as they are on leads, and covered seating, a barbecue, and water, are all available too. A dump point is also located at the park, which is of great value.

During a visit to Gatton, spend some time at the Lockyer Valley Culture Centre, which has only been open to the public since 2009. The centre houses a library, art gallery, café, visitor information centre, the Lockyer Legends Hall of Fame, and the Queensland Transport Museum. For those who enjoy bird-watching, take a walk along the circular walking track at Apex Park. Here you can also check out the Dry Rainforest and the Lights on the Hill Trucking memorial.
