CEO Weekly Message

Earlier this week, we reminded members to be on the lookout for signs of cybercrime and I would like to touch on this again. Please be mindful of suspicious messages and emails you may receive such as spam emails and phishing, which are emails designed with the intent to trick you into providing personal information including credit card or contact details. Please be vigilant and be on the lookout for misspelt sender addresses, generic greetings and signoffs, poor grammar and spelling and suspicious links. If you do receive what appears to be a spam or phishing email from CMCA, please report this to NHQ on 02 4978 8788 and if possible, forward the email to phishing@cmca.net.au. Scam emails can also be reported to Scamwatch HERE. Whilst messages may appear to be from CMCA, via email and SMS text message, cyber criminals may be looking to obtain credentials or personal information, so be on the alert for red flags. Please remember, CMCA will never make demands in any correspondence and your membership will not be terminated if you do not reply. For more information on what to look out for and how to avoid being a victim of cybercrime, see the ACCC website HERE.

Stay safe

Richard
