CEO Weekly Message

I wanted to give members a brief update on how we are travelling with the development of our two new CMCA RV Parks in Gunnedah, NSW and Port Pirie, SA. Unfortunately, not a lot is happening in Gunnedah at the moment as the town was inundated with flood water recently and the site was affected. Development will most likely recommence early in the new year with a possible opening towards the end of February. This slight hindrance has put us behind schedule; however, the safety and well-being of the community is more important at this stage. On the other hand, development at our site in Port Pirie is going well with construction nearly completed. Located at the Port Football Club grounds, this development has taken shape very quickly. The park will open on Tuesday 4 January 2022; we already have our first custodians lined up and they are excited to welcome members.

I would like to remind members that some of our parks have closed over the summer periods due to the extreme weather conditions experienced. This includes Humpty Doo in the Northern Territory and Charleville, Ingham and Innisfail in Queensland. CMCA RV Park Bundaberg in Queensland, Penola in South Australia and Temora in New South Wales all remain open, as well as our parks in Railton and Geeveston, Tasmania. I would like to mention that at times our parks may have to close at short notice as we are unable to fill custodian roles. Tasmania has seen a shortage of custodians, primarily as mainlanders haven’t been able to travel there. We apologise for the inconvenience when our parks close; however, we are doing our best during the hard times of Covid-19.

Volunteering as a custodian is a great way to meet fellow members and the travelling public. Any member who is interested in volunteering at any of our parks as a custodian, please don’t hesitate to contact NHQ on 02 4978 8788.

Safe travelling
Richard
