Summary
Join us as we explore beautiful coastlines along the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas. With spectacular coastline scenery and several experiences and tours, this safari is the best way to explore some of South Australia's renowned regions - plus with experienced guides and fellow members, there will be plenty of laughs had along the way. We start the tour off in Port Wakefield, then make our way down to the bottom of the York Peninsula. Enjoy getting up close and personal with wildlife, bird life and marine life, before we slowly make our way back up the peninsula. We will stop at Port Victoria and Moonta before jumping on the ferry over to the Eyre Peninsula. We get to explore the natural beauty of coastal towns such as Tumby Bay and Coffin Bays. The half day guided tour of the Oyster Farm is always a favourite, and you won't go home disappointed after the Eco Sea Lion Tour. We end the tour near Port Augusta and enjoy a final night together. Itinerary
Day 1 | For the first day of the tour, everyone will meet up at Port Wakefield and enjoy a meet and greet happy hour and dinner together (accommodation TBA, dinner included). |
Day 2 | We travel to Marion Bay along the coast taking in the stunning sights and coastal towns along the way. We will stop for morning tea and lunch on our way. |
Day 3 | Enjoy a morning with Marion Bay Ocean Safari and view the spectacular wildlife, bird life and marine life (tour included). |
Day 4 | Make the most of this free day at Marion Bay to explore the local area. Some great activates include driving to Innes National Park and a visit West Cape Light station. |
Day 5 | Today we make our way down to Port Victoria and stop at some sights along the way. |
Day 6 | Today we have a short day of travel to Moonta, free time to visit the museum at your leisure before heading to the Free Camp. |
Day 7 | We embark on a vehicle ferry crossing to the Eyre Peninsula and stay near Cowell for the night (Cowell Caravan Park, ferry cost included). |
Day 8 | Tumby Bay is our next destination, where we will stay for one night at a caravan park. |
Day 9 | Today we make our way to Port Lincoln for two nights. |
Day 10 | Today we will go on a ½ day boat cruise to experience the marine life and an opportunity to swim with the sea lions. |
Day 11 | We travel to Coffin Bay, our home for the next three nights. |
Day 12 | Today we enjoy a Oyster Farm Tour and learn about oysters straight from the farmer. We will hear the history of the local area, taste the oysters while enjoying a glass of wine, bubbles or beer and enjoy a hands-on shucking masterclass - all set on the salt water pavilion. |
Day 13 | Free day to explore at Coffin Bay. |
Day 14 | Today we travel to beautiful Ellison staying two nights at Waterloo Bay Caravan Park, plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful coastline. |
Day 15 | Free day at Ellison. |
Day 16 | Today we travel to Coodlie Creek camp stay for one night, stopping at Talia caves on the way. Enjoy barbecue RFDS fundraiser dinner together. |
Day 17 | We travel today to beautiful Streaky Bay and stay one night at Streaky Bay Islands Caravan Park, stopping on the way at Murphy's Haystack. |
Day 18 | Today we travel to Wudinna staying three nights, some power available, short walk into town. |
Day 19 | A full day 4WD tour for ½ the group to Gawler Ranges National Park (all included) visiting Lake Sturt, Kolay Mirika Rocks, Old Paney Homestead, Yandinga, Organ Pipes, morning tea and lunch. Free time at Wudinna for the other half of the group. |
Day 20 | The first ½ of the group have a free day at Wudinna and the second ½ experience the fully 4WD tour of Gawler Ranges National Park. |
Day 21 | Our last day of travel beautiful Whyalla on the coast staying the the Whyalla Gday Park. Enjoy dinner together (dinner included, venue TBC). |
Day 22 | We farewell our new friends and continue our independent travels. |
