Summary 

Join us as we take you through the Queensland and New South Wales outback, starting on the beautiful Clarence River in Iluka, NSW and ending with a cruise on the Thompson River at Longreach, Qld. Relax as you travel through the outback staying at a variety of farm stays.. There will be plenty to see and do on this safari including a visit to a cotton farm and winery tour, the chance to fossick for opals at Lightning Ridge, soak in a hot bore bath at Charlotte Plains and Goodooga and so much more.

Itinerary


Day  1
Meet up at the beautiful seaside village of Iluka on the mouth of the Clarence River where we will have our meet and greet happy hour and our first dinner (dinner included, drinks not included) (power, toilets, shower)
Day  2
Depart for Jackadgery where we camp on the banks of the Mann River
Day 3Depart for Cranky Rock Reserve, staying for one night, go for a walk down to the billabong, see the wildlife, relax around a campfire (some power, toilet, shower)
Day  4
Depart for Lightning Ridge, a town famous for Black Opal. We will stay for two nights in the Lightning Ridge Tourist Park (power, showers, toilet). Tonight we will get together for a woodfired pizza meal (meal included)
Day  5
Collected by coach for a tour of Lightning Ridge (details of tour TBA)
Day  6
Depart for Hebel Pub, will camp behind the pub that night. We will stop at Goodooga bore baths on the way. Dinner at the pub together that night (dinner included, drinks not included)
Day  7
Depart for St George where we will stay at Pelican’s Rest Caravan Park, free time in the afternoon to stock up (power, toilets, shower)
Day 8Collected by coach and do a tour of a vineyard and cotton farm including a lunch (tour and lunch included, drinks not included)
Day  9
Depart for Charlottes Plains farm stay where we will stay one night. If you have a camp oven, tonight is the night to bring it out and cook up a storm. (toilet and shower, unpowered)
Day  10
We travel to Charleville and stay at the Evening Star Caravan Park for two nights (power, water, toilets and showers). Enjoy star gazing show in the evening
Day  11
Free day to explore Charleville
Day 12
Today we travel to Quilpie where and spend one night at the Channel Country Tourist Park. Enjoy a soak in the hot artesian spa (powered site)
Day 13
Today we depart for Eromanga and enjoy a tour of the Dinosaur Natural History Museum in the afternoon and lunch in the café (lunch and tour included). We will stay in a powered site in the caravan park.
Day 14
We depart for Stonehenge, stopping at Windorah and Cooper Creek on the way. Tonight we are staying in free camp on the jump up just outside of Stonehenge. You will enjoy spectacular sunset around the camp fire (if permitted) and we'll have a RFDS sausage sizzle that night.
Day 15
Today we depart for our final destination of Longreach and stay at Longreach Tourist Park . At 4:30 pm we will be collected by coach and taken on a cruise along the Thomson River at sunset. We will enjoy a 2-course dinner and live entertainment (power, toilet, shower) (show, dinner included, drinks not included)
Day 16
We farewell our new friends and depart on our individual travels
