Summary

Tambo to Pinnarendi Station (Forty Mile)

Come along and enjoy the spectacular sights of outback Queensland, starting at Tambo in the heart of Queensland and finishing with a famous woodfired pizza dinner at Pinnarendi Station. This trip will take you through a stunning part of the outback, where you will get to enjoy some of the most beautiful outback scenery, follow the sculpture trail, enjoy a sunset in Winton, see the dinosaurs in Richmond, enjoy a couple of nights at Cobbold George and soak in the hot springs at Talaroo.

Itinerary

Day 1

We start the safari at Tambo Mill Caravan Park with a meet and greet happy hour and dinner together (dinner provided)

Day 2We start our travels and head to Lara Wetlands staying on this beautiful

working cattle farm around the wetlands.

Day 3

We leave Lara Wetlands heading to Aramac to follow the sculpture trail staying at Lake Dunn for the night, (unpowered). We will have a sausage sizzle together at night raising funds for RFDS.

Day 4Today we travel to Muttaburra where we will stay for one night in a Free Camp (water available, no facilities). Have a look at the old hospital while you are there; it is beautifully kept and well worth the visit. Spend the afternoon going for a walk, and dinner at the local pub is included.
Day 5Today we hit the road and head to Winton, where we will stay at the Matilda Caravan Park (power and water available). We will be picked up for a Rangelands Rift sunset tour this afternoon including nibbles (BYO drinks).
Day 6Today we are collected by coach for a morning tour of Bladensburg National Park, see the old shearing shed and homestead, enjoy morning tea at the Billabong and dare to look down the depths of Scrammy Gorge. Free time in the afternoon
Day 7

Today we travel to Richmond where we will stay two nights, (powered site) you will be given a pass to the Kronosaurus Museum to enjoy while you are there.

Day 8Free time to explore Richmond. 
Day 9Today we travel to Hughenden, where we will stay for one night (powered site). Enjoy some free time in the afternoon to look around town and the Flinders Discovery Centre.
Day 10We travel to Charters Towers, where we will stay 2 nights (powered site). There is plenty of time to relax, explore and stock up.
Day 11We travel to the Lynd Roadhouse where we will stay one night (no facilities). Here we will have a fundraiser sausage sizzle and a raffle raising money for the RFDS.
Day 12Today we travel to Forsayth. Depending on road conditions we will take the unsealed road to Einasleigh stopping to look at the Einasleigh Gorge on the way. If the road is not suitable, we will take the sealed way around through Georgetown. We will stay 2 nights at Forsayth (powered site).
Day 13

We are collected by a coach to go into Cobbold Gorge. Enjoy a cruise up the  gorge and a walk on the glass bottom bridge (full details of tour TBC).

Day 14 Today we travel to Talaroo Hot springs where we will stay one night and enjoy a tour and soak of the springs
Day 15For our final night we travel to Pinnarendi Farm Stay, enjoying the peaceful bush setting and a final happy hour and dinner together - woodfired pizza (dinner provided).
Day 16We leave on our independent travels.
