Flinders Ranges - Northern End 2 Southern End

Have you ever wanted to explore the Flinders Ranges from the Northern End to the Southern End? Then this is the safari for you! We head north first staying at working stations and visit Arkaroola to enjoy the wilderness.  Enjoy 4WD tours into the gorges and around Arkaroola, and after we will head into the Central and Southern Flinders Ranges. Join us in exploring this diverse area, which includes wineries and historic ports.

This safari does include some gravel roads.


Day 1 Meet and greet at Peterborough Free Camp for happy hour and BBQ dinner included.

Day  2 Depart for Rawnsley Park Station, a working sheep station overlooking the southern side of Wilpena Pound in the Central Flinders Ranges. 2-night stay, happy hour in the afternoon (powered site).

Day 3 Be collected by 4WD tour vehicle and enjoy a half-day gorges tour (tour included). Happy hour in the afternoon.

Day 4 Depart for Alpana Station, a working sheep station in the Central Flinders Ranges where we will stay 1 night. Happy hour in the afternoon (some powered sites)

Day 5 Departing Alpana Station we will stop in Blinman to take in the history of this tiny town known for its copper mining. We will then head out on gravel road to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Northern Flinders Ranges where we will stay 3-nights (powered sites).

Day 6 Depart on a ½ day 4WD tour of Arkaroola exploring the wonders of the Flinders Ranges (tour included).

Day 7 Free time to explore, go on a hike, enjoy a scenic flight, book a tour or simply relax.  Restaurant facilities are available at Arkaroola, happy hour in the afternoon.

Day  8 Depart for Merna Mora Station- hosted by a sixth-generation cattle and sheep station family- enjoy true bush experience.  We will stay here 2-nights. Happy hour in the afternoon (powered sites).

Day 9 Free time at Merna Mora Station, happy hour in the afternoon.

Day 10 Depart for Quorn in the Central Flinders Ranges where we will stay at accommodation TBA - (powered site), happy hour in the afternoon.

 Day 11 TBA

Day 12 Depart for Jamestown where will stay at accommodation TBA (powered site). Enjoy morning tea at the Stone Hut Bakery on the way, happy hour in the afternoon.

Day  13 Free time to explore the area.  At night we will enjoy a meal at the local pub (meal included).

Day  14 Today we head into the beautiful Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. We will stay 2 nights - accommodation TBA.

Day 15 Today we will be collected by coach and enjoy a winery tour including light lunch (tour, lunch included).

Day  16 Today we head to Port Wakefield where we will stay for one night.  Take a walk around town and enjoy learning about the history. Accommodation TBA, (powered site).

Day  17 We depart for Crystal Brook, known as the town at the start of the Southern end of the Flinders Ranges where we will stay one night. Accommodation TBA (powered site).

 Day 18 We depart for a one night stay in Melrose- known as the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges. Accommodation TBA (powered site).

Day 19 We depart for our final destination - Spear Creek, near Port Augusta where we will enjoy our final dinner together (dinner and happy hour provided). Spear Creek Caravan Park, powered site.

Day 20 We farewell our new friends and depart on our individual travels.
